Here’s the deal
It has been a little while since we posted on here. So heres the deal.
We are currently working on the finishing touches for our embeddable player, which should be released in the next few weeks. This will allow any artist with a Songbright account to link the Sonbright player to their blog, band’s website or other website.
In the mean time, if you haven’t heard Arcade Fire’s new album The Suburbs, I HIGHLY recommend buying it.

We have had a lot of interesting conversations over the last few months regarding Songbright’s unique patent pending service. Some people question how we could ever stay in business by paying our artists $.01 every time their songs are played, with no cap on their earnings. While others question why the service is not free to upload music.
Like anything in life, there are a few different ways to look at this model. But it can be summed up very simply.
In a great deal, everyone wins.
- Musicians and Bands win. Since they make more money per play for their music being played than they would make anywhere else (including traditional radio)
- Songbright wins since we are able build an amazing service that provides value to our artists and listeners.
- Most importantly the listeners win. They get to listen to their favorite artists and support them financially, just by enjoying their music.
